NCEF Completes PANO clinics
The National Character Education Foundation (NCEF) is proud to be entering our second year as a member of the Pennsylvania Association of Nonprofit Organizations (PANO).
NCEF is an organization that values honesty and accountability, and as such, we are working to be a model of best practices in the nonprofit sector. We are passionate about giving our partners complete confidence in our ability to fulfill our mission by seeking PANO’s Standards for Excellence certification in the future.
As a member of PANO, our organization has taken advantage of the educational opportunity they offered to help us implement self-regulation so that we would be able to accomplish our goal of becoming certified.
Several of the staff, including the Executive director and two NCEF board members, committed to attend the four half-day PANO clinics spread over four months hosted by Lark Enterprises, Inc of New Castle, PA. Topics included Mission and Program, Openness, Governance, Conflict of Interest, Human Resources, Finance and Legal, Fundraising and Public Affairs and Public Policy. There were two topics covered at each month’s clinic.
The educational support was invaluable and put us on track to improving operational efficiency and accountability.
