Nationally Known Inspirational Speaker and Author Returns to Tamaqua High School

By L.J. Rettig
NCEF Editor

Bill Sanders, a nationally known speaker and author, along with the National Character Education Foundation (NCEF) is returning to Tamaqua High School on Thursday, April 19th for two powerful presentations. Bill Sanders will be conducting student leadership seminars during the day followed by an evening parent program designed to equip parents in understanding their children’s ever changing youth culture and its potential dangers.

Sanders first visited Tamaqua High School in October of 2006 at the urging of Steve Behr, Assistant Principal of Tamaqua High School. "Bill did a great job and our students and faculty were inspired by Bill’s message." Behr added. "Bill is an extremely effective presenter and this is precisely the kind of program we feel will not only benefit our student body but parents will be inspired by Bills presentation."

Also in attendance was Pennsylvania State Representative David Argall, a strong advocate of character education and supporter of the NCEF. "I was surprised on how well the students reacted to Bill Sanders", Argall said. "The teenagers can be a tough audience but the kids really paid attention", he added. "In light of all the challenges facing our children today, I firmly believe that character education is greatly needed and I am delighted to help make these types of programs possible."
